కంప్యూటర్ వైరస్ అంటే ఏంటి? వీటిని అరికట్టటానికి తీసుకోవలసిన జాగ్రత్తలు ఏంటి?
ఒక వేళ మన కంప్యూటర్‌కు ఇవి సోకితే ఏం చేయగలం?
కంప్యూటర్ వైరస్ అంటే ఏంటి?
కంప్యూటర్ వైరస్, తక్కిన సాఫ్ట్వేర్‌లలానే ఒక చిన్న ప్రోగ్రాం. కానీ ఇది చేసే పనులు చాలా కౄరమైనవి. ఇవి మనం గుర్తించటానికి వీలుకాకుండా ఉండటానికి సాధారణంగా వేరొక సాఫ్ట్వేర్‌లో దాగి ఉంటాయి. అందుకే మనం వీటిని వైరస్ అని అంటాం. ఇవి మన ప్రమేయం లేకుండా మన కంప్యూటర్‌లోనే పలు ఫైల్లకు లేదా ఒక కంప్యూటర్ నుంటి మరొకదానికి వ్యాపిస్తూ ఉంటాయి.
వీటి గూర్చి నేనెందుకు పట్టించుకోవాలి?
మీరు లినక్‌స్ వాడుతున్నటైతే వీటి గురించి పెద్దగా పట్టించుకోనవసరం లేదు, ఎందుకంటే ఇవి లినక్స్‌లో చాలా అరుదు(లేవని కాదు). కానీ ప్రస్తుతం 95% మంది విండోస్ వాడుకరులే.
వైరస్‌లు చాలా రకాలు ఉన్నాయి. అతి తక్కువ హాని తలపెట్టేవి అంటే వార్నింగ్ మెసేజిలు మనకు ఇచ్చి అంతటితో ఆగిపోయేవి. అత్యంత హానికరమైనవి అంటే మన డేటా మొత్తాన్నీ తుడిచిపెట్టెస్తాయి, లేదా మన ప్రమేయం లేకుండా మన ఈ-మైల్ నుండి మన అడ్రస్ బుక్కులో ఉండే వారందకీ అసబ్యకరమైన మైల్లను పంపేస్తుంటాయి.
వీటిని అరికట్టటం ఎలా?
1. ఒక మంచి Anti-Virus మీ కంప్యూటర్‌లో ఇంస్టాల్ చేసుకోవటం. కొన్ని ఉచితంగా లభిస్తాయి. ఇంకా మంచివి కావాలంటే రూ.750/- నుంటి లభిస్తాయి. దగ్గరే ఉన్న కంప్యూటర్ షాపులో అడగండి.
2. ఎప్పటికప్పుడు ఇంటెర్నెట్ ద్వారా మీ యాంటీ వైరస్‌లను అప్డేట్ చేసుకోవాలి. కనీసం వారానికి ఒకసారి, ఎందుకంటే ఏదో ఒక కొత్త వైరస్ వచ్చే ఉంటుంది.
3. మరీ ముఖ్యమైన డేటా ఏదైనా ఉంటే దానిని డీ.వీ.డీ లలో బద్రపరుచుకోవాలి.
4. .exe .vbs .scr .vbe .com .bat .shs .cpl .dll .ocx .pif .drv .lnk .bin .sys .eml .nws. ఎరుపు రంగులో తెలిపిన ఎక్స్టెన్‌షన్ ఉన్న ఫైల్లు మీ ఈ-మైల్‌లో వస్తే వాటిని తెరవకండి, అవి మీకు తెలిసిన వారు పంపినప్పటికి కూడా. ఎందుకంటే అవి వారి ప్రమేయలేకుండా వచ్చినవి ఉంటాయి.
5. పెన్‌డ్రైవ్‌ లను యాన్‌టీ-వైరస్ స్క్యాన్ చేయకుండా తెరవకండి.
6. ప్రతి వైరస్‌నూ అరికట్టే సామర్థ్యం ఏ యాన్‌టీ-వైరస్సుకూ ఉండదు, కావున అప్రమత్తంగా ఉండండి.
Shutting Down a REmote Machine on Lan through IP
SHUTDOWN A REMOTE MACHINE ON LAN...IT WORKS BEST ON COLLEGES / SCHOOLS/Where Ever.

Step 1: Go to cmd
Step 2: Type shutdown -i .....this opens a dialouge box.
Step 3: Add the different ip of computers u want to shutdown there u can add up a notification and also turn remote machine without a notification given to the machine.
Step 4: click ok...and u r done
u can also try out the command as shutdown -r -f -m \\"ip of the remote machine" -t xx.
where
-r : restarts the computer
-f :forcibly shuts down the pc
-t is the time in sec

If your calculator is blocked you can do the same in any of the windows XP games;

- Hearts.
- Internet Backgammon.
- " " Checkers.
- " " Hearts.
- " " Reversi.
- " " Spades.
- Solitaire.
- Pinball.
- Minesweeper.
- Spider Solitaire.
I have tested it in all of them and it works. But I REPEAT THIS;
YOUR ADMINISTRATOR MIGHT BE AWARE OF THAT AND IT MIGHT NOT WORK ( not trying to yell to anybody just make it more clear )

4) click "submit"

All (Ctrl+Alt+Del) Permanently deleted files Recovery solution

Here is the solution
Software called "Kissass Undelete" , can bring those files from the hard disk or your flash drive.
Conditions : Only if the data on that drive is not re-occupied(or written). that means the space which was available after the deletion is not been occupied after the deletion.

Select the drive from the Left panel of the Windows and Click the scan button.

Multiple Logins in yahoo without Software
1) Go to Start
2) Navigate to HKEY_CURRENT_USER-->Software-->Yahoo-->Pager-->Test
3)ON the Right side if the page , Right click and choose new Dword Value.
4) Rename it as " Plural ".
5)Double click and assign a decimal value of 1.
6) Now close registry and restar yahoo messenger and try Multiple Login

Error Reporting in XP
If error reporting in XP is bugging you then turn it off.When a system error occurs in XP, a little dialog box appears asking if you want to report the error to Microsoft. Click the message box to make it disappear. You don't have to report the error if you don't want to and on today's "Call for Help" Leo shows you how to turn off the feature if you find it distracting.
To disable error reporting, follow these directions:
1. Right-click My Computer and choose Properties.
2. Click the Advanced tab on your System Properties dialog box.
3. Click the Error Reporting button on the Advanced tab.
4. Place a checkmark next to "Disable error reporting."
5. Leave the other radio button unchecked next to the text labeled, "But notify me when critical errors occur."
6. Click OK.

Recover the lost administrators password in Windows XP
Slightly more work needed if you lose or forget the Windows XP administrator password.
1.First reboot Windows XP in safe mode by re-starting the computer and pressing F8repeated as the computer starts up.
2.Then (in safe mode) click Start and then click Run. In the open box type "controluserpasswords2" without the quotes - I have just used quotes to differentiate what you have to type.
3.You will now have access to all the user accounts, including the administrators account and will be able to reset the lost password.
4.Just click the administrators user account, and then click Reset Password.
5.You will need to add a new password in the New password and the Confirm new password boxes, and confirm by clicking OK.
All done, you have recovered the lost adminitrators password!

How to Hide the drives(c:,d:,e:,...etc) in Ur Computer
This is a great trick you can play on your friends. To disable the display of local or networked drives when you click My Computer.
1.Go to start->run.Type regedit.Now go to:

Now in the right pane
create a new DWORD item and name it NoDrives (it is case sensitive).
Now modify it's value and set it to 3FFFFFF (Hexadecimal) .
Now restart your computer.
